TT Prison Service said a prisoner by the name of Mr. Woods, who has been in remand since 2018, has committed suicide. This was determined based upon the manner in which prison officers found him. There were no apparent marks of violence or indications of a fight.
Mr. Woods was discovered about 12.35 pm last Thursday (Sept. 3, 2020) in the Port of Spain prison by prison officers. He was immediately given CPR and medical treatment. Although he was rushed to POS General Hospital, he was pronounced "DOA."
